The bit that paid for the cameras. Four decades of briefs, deadlines and other people’s opinions — a surprising number of which turned out rather well. Industry, museums and exhibitions over the years, and unlike the photographs, none of it was made to please me — which may be why it’s lasted better. Most still in use, largely as designed — a batting average most consultants would kill for. There’s room for more of it, if the brief’s a good one.
